Wow!
Today was a beautiful day here in Porsmork.

We woke up to nicer weather, no rain and dry clothes!
We got ready and headed out the hike we had intended to do yesterday – about 8 miles total. Just as before, every view is breathtaking here and we immediately felt like we were alone in the middle of nowhere.

It is Iceland, so of course it did rain off and on, but never for more than 5-10 minutes and then the sun would shine and dry us out.
We took tons of pictures. Its hard to take one that really captures the beauty, but we tried. And now its hard to choose which pictures to post here too… So I’ll just post a ton.

Sage slept, sang, requested songs, pooped, and put flowers in Steve’s raincoat hood. We let her out to run a few times, which she loved. She is really so good at riding, and Steve is an absolute beast at carrying her, even as she gets heavier and heavier. No one else is carrying their 2 year old around on their back for 8 miles.

The walk took us along the river bed, then up the mountain with amazing views of the valley and glaciers, then across the top and down through a canyon along a little stream. So many hikes here are incredible, I feel like each one is my new favorite, however today really seems among the best hikes of all time.
Eventually we came back home, 15 minutes too late for french fries, not that I was thinking about them for the last mile…. We hung out in the dining hall while Sage reorganized games and eventually they served delicious buffet dinner.

The weather tomorrow looks like rain and wind all day without reprieve, so we changed our bus out to the morning. That will get us back to our camper at noon and we can take care of laundry and other errands.
Amazing views!!! Sage looks as happy as ever! It’s awesome to see how you are enjoying this and the photos are incredible.
She is having so much fun
