Waiting on weather
The last two days have been a bit slower as we wait for the weather at our next stop to improve. It’s cold and cloudy here, but it’s even colder and snowing there.

Yesterday we did laundry and grocery shopping and visited the playground pool next to the campsite. It was a nice lazy day.

Today we went into Akureyri, which is the second largest city in Iceland to explore. We went shopping and then to the gym and pool, which was awesome. There were many pools, seven different hot tubs, a kids pool, three big slides, and an astroturf lawn with sprinklers to play in. And if course a playground and two jumping pads. It was great.

We could take Sage on two of the three slides, which she loved. The third slide was a lot of fun too. It started steep and then put you into a large bowl before spitting you out into the pool again. Sage had lots of fun requesting various toys, pools and slides while Steve and I took turns working out. After the pool, Sage fell asleep immediately. We stopped at a kebab restaurant and found out that the Barbie movie had sold out, so we got tickets for tomorrow and went for ice cream downtown before heading back to the campsite.

Tomorrow our plan is the same – visit the pool and work out, then explore downtown Akureyri and get late lunch before the Barbie movie. We’ll hang out the following day too before heading on to Husavik and then Myvatn on Saturday and Sunday.
Sage hasn’t been to a movie yet, so we aren’t sure how she will do. She does sit and watch her iPad for a while, which we think is similar. I’m more concerned about popcorn. The pediatrician and internet says she shouldn’t have it until age 4. I can’t imagine not having popcorn at a movie. We’ll see.
