Last day on Snaefellsnes
The weather seems to just get nicer by the day, today included. It has been warm with mild winds. We have been in short sleeves much of the day.
Today we woke up and went for a hike just east of Grundafjordur. The hike was one that was listed on all trails. It was easy to find but also very remote. We saw a few people going to the waterfall at the car park but noone on the hike. It was beautiful. It was so clear you could see all of the mountains and sea around. There was a lake, a river, a waterfall, a mountain, and views.

Sage fell asleep as usual and then was hungry when she woke up.

After our hike we drove to Selvallavatn view point for lunch. It was so nice we ate outside overlooking the lake and landscape.

Then after lunch we walked down the hill towards the lake, stopping at the waterfall that had a cool trail that went behind the waterfall.

From the waterfall we drove to Stykkisholmur, the biggest town on Snaefellsnes peninsula. It is a cute town with a handful of restaurants and gas stations and the ferry that we will take tomorrow. The harbor has a beautiful island with a lighthouse that you can climb up and walk around and look out into the fjord with lots of islands and birds. Sage loved the puffins.

After wandering around and getting groceries we went back down to the harbor for Fish and Chips and Ice cream from the food trucks along the bay. It was super busy as the weather was great. We met a nice pair of ladies that are here in Iceland working for the US Embassy. It was really nice chatting with them.
What a nice way to end our time here on the Snaefellsnes peninsula.
Tomorrow we will take the ferry from Stykkisholmur to Brjanslaekar on the westfjords with a stopover on Flatey Island.

Love all the pictures!! I can see why you wanted to take so much time to just explore!!!
