First full day in the Vestmannaeyjabaer Islands

We woke up this morning and drove to a nearby lookout for breakfast.

Then we drove to the end of the island and hiked around looking at the cliffs, the birds and sheep. We met another couple with a little girl that was 15 months. There were a lot of people at first, but once we walked a half a mile on the path, we were alone. It was a nice walk to see the whole island and the water and cliffs and birds.

Sage fell asleep.

We drove back and stopped at a beach on the way for Steve and Sage to eat lunch.

Then we parked back at the campsite and walked into town.

We had a few minutes at the playground before a boat tour around the island. Sage was very excited to go on a boat, she was shouting “yay” and marching around.

The boat tour was really nice, we saw lots of the island. Part of the island that was formed in the eruption in 1973 is still settling and changing. Our tour guide said this arch used to be connected to the island.

Sage fell asleep.

After the boat tour we went for early dinner at Naes, which was delicious. Then ice cream, also delicious. Sage liked it all.

As we walked home, Sage told us she wanted to eat! Back at the camper I put Sage to sleep while Steve ran up the mountain next to the camp site.
