Last day in Myvatn
The weather was great again today. Steve worked out while Sage and I hung out. Then we did a bunch of smaller walks around the lake.
First we did the 1.5 mile hike at the spot I had ran at yesterday. It was gorgeous.

Then we went for a quick visit of grjótagjá, a Thermal hot spring in a cave inside the rock. You can climb down into it to look. Apparently scene from Game of Thrones was shot here? We had lunch here enjoying the views.

Then on to Hverir, a geothermal area alongside a mountain where water and hot mud bubble and steam up to the surface. Sage walked and ran the whole way. She likes to run elbows out, which is adorable. She also stopped to pick up small rocks and jump off the big ones.

From there we made a quick stop at Viti Crater. Sage didn’t want to get out of the car, so we stayed while Steve ran to the rim of the crater.

Then we drove on from Lake Myvatn to the north. On the way we stopped at Dettifoss, which is my favorite of the fosses. It is so big and powerful. Today the sun was shining and there was a beautiful rainbow, sometimes two, right in the spray of the waterfall.

From there we continued on to Ásbyrgi campsite. There are a couple of hikes here, so we may spend a couple days. We will get rain tomorrow morning, but the afternoon and the next day should be good.
Right now we are enjoying the sun while we wait on laundry and Steve cooks dinner.
