Snaefellsnes take 4
Today was our fourth day here on the Snaefellsnes peninsula. The weather continues to be beautiful. Today was even better – less windy and a bit warmer.

We woke up and did some errands – laundry, grocery shopping, gas. The food tour taught us that we like Icelandic hot dogs (something I never would have guessed), so we stopped at the hot dog food truck in town for lunch. Sage ate an entire hot dog and bread and butter and then ran around the field looking at the flowers.

After lunch we went to Rauðfeldsgjá gorge. A small stream of water has cut a deep gorge into the rock. You can go inside and as far up as you are willing to scramble. We all went a bit and then Sage and I hung out and enjoyed the view while Steve continued upstream.

Then we drove to Bjarnarfoss. Sage had fallen asleep, so we took turns going up to see the waterfall and staying with Sage. There are so many waterfalls here, but they’re still so beautiful and fun to walk up to and along.

Bjarnarfoss was the last item on our list on the south side of the peninsula. We drove back to the campground on the north, stopping briefly at Kirkjufellfoss on the way to the campground. Sage walked for most of it.

Tomorrow we will explore east of the campground. I booked us a one way ferry for the next day to the Westfjords.

Beautiful Country!! Love the pic with the Puffin. Sage is growing up so quickly AND has blonde hair like her Momma!!
