Skaftafell and Jokularsalon Bay
This morning we piled into one campervan and drove to Jokularsalon Bay for a zodiac boat tour around the glacial lagoon. When we arrived the fog was so thick you couldn’t see anything, but the boats were still going.
Sage is too young to go, so Steve stayed behind this time.

The fog was kinda cool on the boat as the icebergs would appear in the water as we got close to them. The tour was really nice and our guide was great. The fog lifted shortly into our tour and then we could see the lagoon, the glacier and the mountain around it.

We got back from the tour and made a quick stop at Diamond Beach before headed back to Skaftafell to pick up my parents car and have lunch.

After lunch, Mom Willie and I walked down to the glacier while Steve stayed at the camper with Sage hoping she’d go to sleep. She didn’t so instead they called Abu, Bob, Rich, Nikki, Hudson and Garcia.

Then we drove on to Vik. As we drove the rain picked up. The weather has really worked out so well for our plans. The only hard rain we got was when we were driving. We arrived in Vík for dinner at Sudur-Vik which was delicious. We reminisced about our day and our trip. Mom and Willie treated us for my birthday and the vacation planning. A nice surprise and a very nice meal.

It’s hard to believe tomorrow is my parents last full day.
