A nice day in the south

The weather was beautiful again today. We slept in. When Sage woke up she wasn’t feeling well. But after a little time and food, she was back to her usual self. We took turns running while Sage played on the playground with Minnie.

From there we drove east to Seljalandsfoss to explore a hike we had seen from the Porsmork bus.

Sage was asleep when we arrived, so Steve went first while I stayed in the car with her. He went all the way up the crack and climbed up above it too.

Sage woke up before a huge herd of horses lead by 15 or so people on horseback ran by right in front of the car. It was really cool to watch.

When Steve came back I went on the walk. It was awesome. Theres a short walk to where the river has carved a crack in the rock. From there you can walk up the stream, hopping from rock to rock, along the bank and across a bridge. It’s definitely a must do when visiting Seljalandsfoss!

Back at the car, we snacked on some bread and cheese and then headed on to Selfoss, which was just over an hour away.

In Selfoss, Steve went grocery shopping and he and Sage walked along the river while I napped in the car.

Then we went to dinner at Tryggvaskáli, a restaurant we liked from our first trip to Iceland. The food is delicious and they have a table upstairs in what must have been a closet at some point, with a window overlooking the river. What a great dinner.

From there we drove west to a campsite near Reykjavik. Tomorrow we will explore around Reykjavík a bit.
